Double Down is a “gambling term”

When you gamble, you place a BET. If you lose the bet you can stop right there, and either CHANGE your betting strategy or Stop betting altogether. There is ONE MORE situation though…you can KEEP ON BETTING the SAME STRATEGY as the one that just lost you money on the last bet. This is what as referred to as DOUBLING DOWN…it means going along with what is losing…in hopes that you will win.
